ShieldStep is a digital wellness and financial guardrail utility. The App uses advanced localized detection mechanisms (including Android Accessibility Services and System Overlay configurations) to scan, detect, and safely redirect your screen away from recognized betting applications, gambling interfaces, lottery platforms, and casino deposit screens in Kenya before an impulsive transfer takes place.

2 User Eligibility, Voluntary Commitment & Safeguard Mechanism

By activating a paid subscription tier and enabling the requested Android Accessibility and System Overlay permissions, you explicitly instruct, authorize, and contract ShieldStep to implement real-time behavioral intervention mechanics on your device. You acknowledge and agree that the core value and utility of the Service rely on its ability to remain operational during intense periods of psychological urges or gambling triggers.

2.2.1 Voluntary Restraint:

By activating ShieldStep, you explicitly acknowledge and grant the App permission to restrict your device's access to designated payment gateways. You understand that the App is designed to create an un-bypasable 15-minute cool-down window to curb impulsive behavior.

2.3 The 24-Hour Cooling-Off Uninstallation Protocol

2.3.1 Deactivation and Uninstallation Procedure

To safeguard your recovery journey and prevent impulsive bypass maneuvers during active cravings, ShieldStep enforces a strict account deactivation protocol:

Standard operating system uninstallation routes are programmatically restricted while your account profile holds an active subscription status.

To remove the application, you must initiate a "Deactivation Request" directly inside the ShieldStep application user interface.

Triggering a Deactivation Request initializes a mandatory, server-independent 24-hour cooling-off countdown window. Throughout these 24 hours, all application tracking, payment interceptions, and anti-uninstallation safeguards remain 100% active and unalterable.

Upon the completion of the 24-hour cooling-off timer, your protection state will flip to inactive, and standard device uninstallation functionality will be fully restored.

3 App Permissions & Data Privacy

System Permissions: To function effectively, the App requires Android Accessibility and System Overlay (Draw Over Other Apps) configurations. You explicitly authorize the App to utilize these background behaviors to locally monitor and intercept interaction prompts on recognized gambling platforms.

Privacy Assurance: ShieldStep operates on a strict Privacy-First Architecture. All scanning, string matching, and transaction interception happen completely localized on your device. ShieldStep Limited does not view, collect, read, or store your private text messages, bank balances, personal identification numbers (PINs), or transaction histories on external servers.

4 Subscription Fees, Billing, & Cancellations

Pricing Packages: Access to ShieldStep's blocking utility is structured into premium tiers:

• Daily Pass: KES 20 / day
• Weekly Guard: KES 100 / week
• Monthly Fortress: KES 300 / month

Payment & Renewals: Payments are processed securely via integrated M-Pesa Express. Subscriptions grant access strictly for the duration of the purchased tier.

No-Refund Policy: Due to the digital and transactional nature of subscription passes, all payments made to Shieldstep Limited are non-refundable.

5 Technical Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Disclaimer of System Control and Device Autonomy

By agreeing to these terms, you understand that you are voluntarily ceding immediate access to certain device settings (specifically the ability to instantly force-stop or delete this application) for the duration of your active subscription or your 24-hour cooling-off window. ShieldStep Limited shall not be held liable for any perceived inconvenience, restricted device utility, or operational delays caused by the active execution of these contractually requested recovery safeguards.

Limitation of Liability: SHIELDSTEP LIMITED SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY FINANCIAL LOSSES, GAMBLING LOSSES, DAMAGES, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS INCURRED BY THE USER. ShieldStep is a self-directed tool to support financial wellness; the ultimate responsibility for financial choices and betting restraint rests solely on the User.
